The Film has arrived! Now I just gotta cut it
The film showed up Tuesday, and I have watched all of it several times over. I am amazed how good it looks. It's testament to the vision 2 kodak stocks, as even the scene that we overexposed by 3 stops retained a lot more detail than I thought it would. Maybe I should have over exposed it by 4 stops.
Anyway heres a few pics from the film. These are all ungraded one-light transfers, so when we get the supervised HD transfer, these will look even better! anyway I am very happy how it all turned out. I am syncing the audio up now, and that will take some time. The edit should take a week or two. If anyone wants to drop by and see the edit proccess (sheri) I think Sunday would be the best time to do that.

Do you have an ETA on the finished film?
Nope, its really hard to say. I had up to scene 4 cut, but last night on a whim I deleted it all and started over at scene 1. That sort of stuff happens a lot. If I am unhappy with an edit sometimes I will just start it over with a scene, and that can add some time to the edit.
I would say probably within a month I will have a rough cut that everyone involved can watch.
As for a finnished film, there will be a lot to do after the rough cut is done. We are getting a composer to do the score, I assume that will take some time, also some special effects work, ADR and folley, as well as final color correction and mastering. I don't think it will be festival ready for at least 4 months.
I will set up a screening before that however, and of course sheri your more than welcome to drop by and see the edit in progress.
